No Spark

I’m having an issue with my 77 t140v. It died on me with no spark I think. I started it up (first kick)...
It sounded fine for about 5 minutes then backfired when given throttle and died. I checked and found no spark.. it’s like when it warms up it quits.
Any suggestions?

 

Wiring is not my strong point DD, but a faulty battery or earth problem are common.

 

Once you have checked the battery and wiring has it got the Lucas RITA ignition? if so it should spark every time the ignition switch is turned on if not its got a problem as it will be unlikely both coils have failed.

 

thanks all for your support. It turned out to be a very poor connection inside the Boyer ignition.
