    Hi All,
I have a 2010 Triumph America, in the process of being shipped from Florida back to the UK.
(Hope I don`t miss all the good riding weather before it gets here!)
One thing I do need to pass the Motorcycle SVA test is a UK spec (E Marked) Head light unit.
Has anyone got one for sale? or any idea where I might get one? Have looked on ebay but they are all
none original or not E marked.
Sorry if this is not the right place to place this plea for help.
    Pics of bike to follow.

Or cheaper/better get the 7" Valeo unit which is Cibie by another name. It is a better reflector than the OEM unit and if you upgrade the wiring it will give you a far better beam.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. That looks like a good option if it will fit into the standard Triumph shell. Not very good with electrics though! lol. What will the wiring upgrade entail? Thanks.

You don't have to change the wiring at all, you can just change the headlap for the CIBIE version. They are both for H4 bulbs so all you do is remove the bulb (still plugged in) from the old headlamp and insert into the new one.

However if you do the wiring mod it'll be better still. But I prefer "baby steps" so I do one change at a time.

The wiring diagram might look intimidating but is actually dead simple.

Firstly the headlight unit is a drop in. I am not sure if the export model has a parking light - that is a small variable in the shell. Both are readily obtainable.

The wiring upgrade provides thicker cable than the standard loom direct from the battery. You then suffer minimal voltage drop and maximise bulb performance. You use two standard automotive relays (high and low beam) to switch power on and off with an in-line fuse to protect the new power feed circuit. You need f

Thanks biglad. Great. Where abouts R U in France? Just bought a house near Domfront. Lower Normandy. Can`t wait to get the bike down there once it is all registered and legal etc. Looks like that will be around the start of September. Already have a Harley Dyna low rider down there. The roads are brilliant around me, and about an hour from Le Man. so really looking forward to it. Just got to get the Triumph through the UK. SVA test.

Thanks, That makes it a lot clearer now. Have looked on Fleabay and can get the lens unit for around GBP.22.00 inc postage. (Lot cheaper than the OEM
parts from Triumph, so will go down that route. Thanks to your info think I can also manage the wiring changes! lol.

    (Ipad crashed!)

female spade connectors to fit the relays and a headlight bulb connector plus battery rings and the wire itself in 1.5 mm size.

All controls remain unchanged. Switch on, lights on. Press starter and the bike relay cuts headlight power. Bike starts, bike relay closes and powers new relay that switches on direct supply......

If the wiring upgrade intimidates just fit the headlight for a 90% result!

Oh and space in the headlight shell can be tight so you can locate the relays under the tank (taped in plastic) if necessary.

Thanks for the welcome. Shipped back two Harleys that I had owned in the States for a few years, and they were just over 10 years old so no SVA required
Think that the headlight will be the only issue, but have now bought a unit that is E marked and dips to the correct side. Just got to wait for it to turn up at Felixstowe now.
