Hi All, I'm Richard, I am a newbie to these Triumph Forums and I would just like to introduce Myself. I am 54, Live in Barnsley and I have just recently purchased a 2nd hand 2014, 32,000 miles Street Triple 675. Upon purchasing the ride, I was aware of and informed that the slight vibrations were connected to a clutch problem. I am not very mechanically or technically minded. I was not put off nor was I worried about this issue. I rode the bike over 200 miles home and admittedly the vibration is there, but more noticeable whilst stationary. upon drawing the clutch lever in it does seem to disappear. There is no play in the clutch lever/cable and no slippage. I rang up and spoke to a feller at Fowlers Bristol, and he advised me that he feels that the main culprit would be the Bearing, Pressure Plate - part number - T1170067. if it was anything else the problem would show further symptoms. I have ordered that particular part along with the associated gasket, replacement clutch plates ( friction ) and metal. replacement springs and obviously some thread lock. Oil, Oil Filter with the drain plug washer and Air Filter. I am obviously going to be replacing the Oil, so thought I may as well do this mini service whilst in there. I was firstly wondering if there was any pointers anyone would like to inform me of. Alas after probably 100 miles of running about locally, there has become an evident water leak. Emanating from the Water Inlet from just below the Manifold. coming from the top section of hose that connects to the water inlet. Could this be a deeper problem than it looks ( just a leaking connection ) I wondered if this could be a Thermostat issue. I am sorry to be throwing these questions Out, Especially upon Me just joining. But I have had every intention of joining, just I have been too busy sat Wooing over my purchase. Chris here typing from Yucatan, Mexico. In October I found a 2014 Scrambler 900 with 3000 miles on it for sale in Merida. Perfect for me here as primary transportation. Partial to Triumphs as I've had in Maine a 70 Tiger 650 for next to 50 years. I did a quick scan of consumer reports on the Scrambler and read one complaint about the rectifier and after a few thousand miles this appears to be sapping a new battery that I installed recently. With the help of the Internet I'll proceed to diagnose it down further before returning to Maine soon for a few months to supply me with some obvious parts. I also blew the oil out in a rear shock on the goddamned "Topes"! Glad to hear any comments or suggestions on advancing these troubles. Thanks ahead of time.
Richard O Yes lovely bike and do hope the problem gets sorted. Your water check the hoses if they are tight. Take the thermostat out and clean or replace. Welcome to the family. Joe
