Hi Everyone, I'm Matt from Surrey and I'm fast realising that I'm a motorbike addict. I've just put a deposit down on a Street Triple R.... Dark! It's going to be my second bike, I don't need it, I didn't particularly want a second bike, but I'm going to have it and I will love it My daily is a 2014 Yamaha Fazer 800 which is brilliant fun, the Triumphs are more fun though and have more soul to them! Previously I had a Harley Davidson Iron 883, which was terrible and had massive corrosion after only 4 months. I look forward to meeting some of you around

Thanks for the welcomes The harley sounded awesome, it did almost everything else badly! I'm sure a lot of that is because it was the base model, however the attitude of the dealership was terrible and it's put me off the whole brand. Moving on to positive things! Triumph Guildford have been amazing, once I have the bike I'll obviously upload pictures etc. My wife was actually the one who suggested I get this one, so that's a plus too, considering she doesn't ride and doesn't want to be a pillion either.

Welcome Matt Man, just a bit of info on HD. The company lost 18 million last quarter and going to lay off over 100 employees due to slump in sales!!!!
Thankfully she's fine with me spending a lot of time out, I used to have a drift car and went all over Europe and the UK playing cars at an amateur level. Since then I've had a project pickup truck that I've been rebuilding, a 1968 Chevy with way too much power, time and money in it and now I'm apparently buying bikes at a rate of knots! I think she's pleased that the bikes fit in the garage, unlike the drift car or the truck, I had to keep them in a unit 40 minutes away from home, so even when I'm playing I'll be closer than she's been used to! I tend to go riding early in the morning on weekends, so that I'm home by lunch which also keeps her happy
Economically, I can understand this 'copying' but it will never be a part of my way to befriend any material object: I love it, when a company goes their own way and plants their own tradition, like Honda did with the Goldwing and Guzzi with the California. I recently had the chance to take a closer look at the Iron and the 48. Man, did they ever see the Triumph Bobber? WHAT on earth is that cable-salad below my arse??? And mind you: I like HD. But this does give them no right to build a great high end product like the Touring family and on the other end of the spectrum (and we still talk 10.000,-€ and up) some wobbling piece of embarrassment. @Cadaver Oh, I forgot: WELCOME and: great bike, you chose. In addition, a little side-info: when those new turn indicators became 'en vogue' where you tip on the lever only slightly and then the indicators would flash 3 times, BMW had to make this feature optional, because their drivers are so mega-cool, they only flash ONCE while entering the Autobahn from all the way right, directly to the 4th lane where they belong by birthright.
