    Afternoon all,

My name is Wayne, 42, live in Essex, UK, and I'm about to venture into my first naked machine purchase, having always had Jap Sports Bikes, with lovely fairings...

The bike I'm buying is a 2018 Speed Triple RS, in Matte Black, with QS, Crash Protection, Tail Tidy, Austin Racing Can (not to my taste), Diamond Stitched Seat, and Pillion Seat Delete.
1 owner from new, 9000 miles, and FTSH.

The bike is at my local Triumph Dealer, and I'm in love with it. It's stunning. So nice to ride, punchy, the sound is nothing I've ever heard before, if you can hear it through the rubbish race can din....

My only issue, is the Tyres.....Supercorsas!!!

The bike is going to be an any weather commuting bike, aside from snow/ice. So Dry, Wet, Windy is what it'll be exposed to.

Supercorsas, won't like that, and neither will my a-hole.

I have a small list of potential tyre swap outs, and wondered if anyone has experience of these, on our UK roads.

Michelin Pilot Rd 4's, Road 5's, Angel GT's, Metzeler M7 RR's or M9 RR's, or my old favourites Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's.

I'm hoping to learn a thing or 2 from the forum, as being a naked bike owner, is a completely new thing for me.

    Cheers

    Wayne.

Welcome, I am new here too!

I live in CT in the US, and ride frequently in wet/cold conditions. I used both the Pilot Power 2ct and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIIs, with slight preference for the latter on my 2012 Speed Triple R, which i rode every year from 2013 until this spring. I just traded the bike in, after putting over 20K miles on it.

I remember the supercorsas it came with to be just like you described, and probably any of the choices you are looking at would be loads better for cold/wet. Even in hot weather, the supercorsas felt greasy when wet. Did not like that at all. I liked the Pirelli's best in the wet, in particular.

Work perfectly and brilliant mileage too.
Agree on the standard tyres sir. Crap in the rain (IMHO)

Thanks everyone. It is a definate given, the current rubber, will be binned off, and sold (good idea that man).

As for what goes on, all the brands are top, but it's what will provide the most longevity before the ultimate square off, hits.

Friends have recommended the Michelin 4's, but the Metzelers do have an attraction.

But aside, from this, are there any issues I need to be aware of, with the bike and/or the brand?

    Cheers.
