Ordering my speed triple r today, trading in my 16 plate s1000r,bm is a great bike and does the lot, fast roads,in town, and did 2 weeks in Spain last year, its just got no character,it just screams everywhere ,wanted something a bit more classy, love the sound of the triple and it looks great,20bhp less,so what, don't do track days so do I actually use the 160bhp on the road? Don't know ,I've gone for the graphite,Low boy n quick shifter, evotech tailtidy, need to get it run in asap as back to Pyrenees and picos soon

Not sure Danny, perhaps another member can comment. I asked for mine from the dealer as it was not fitted purely because I always try to get the standard parts when buying a new bike if the previous owner has fitted extras. If you don't come right I can check tonight. Im sure it will fit though.

    Hi Danny,

I have had my grey R for a couple of weeks now and like you traded in an s1000r. I made the change for the same reasons, the BM was buzzy, loud and lacked class. You won't regret the change. I went for the high arrows purely because to me that's what a triple should have. The build quality of the triple is way better too!

Just a point of note the traction control in road and sport comes in early so use track once you have run it in. The brakes are terrible for the first couple of rides and the tyres are slippery until they get some heat in them, be carful!

    Enjoy!

    Danny,

Yes the brakes got better with use, as they do... Good idea with the TC mode. The TC on the triple is more sensitive than the S1000r. I used road to run my R in then tried sport which didn't change the TC. Track however makes the engine sing!

Here is mine to get you through the next week or so!!

Have you got a paddock stand yet?
