Hi, from Cheshire Been looking at Triumph bikes for a couple of years now , I've narrowed it down(but carnt decide) to a 2014 luna silver Bonneville, A 2015 Bonneville Newchurch, or the one the wife likes.. the t100....she likes the spoke wheels . All around 5k mark. Any advise would be well appreciated thanks.

Hi Niko and welcome. If the wife is going to ride with you I would suggest the T120 as it has more power. My suggestion would be to see if you can test ride both. I have the T100 and I am really happy with it but it is down on power and I can only imagine two up would be worse. I like the spoke rims too. For solo riding the T100 is fine, enough power to overtake and cruise comfortably at 140km/h. It is light on fuel and comfortable. This is my views though and others might disagree. Each to their own in the end ! Here's mine :)

The essential dynamic difference in the older Bonnie range is in the wheels. The smaller wheeled SE and its Newchurch variant are faster steering and have tubeless tyres. They are generally better suited to shorter stature riders......and ladies......but that is a bit incidental.
The 19” front wheel of the T100 is the most ‘traditional’ Bonneville look with spokes and all about aesthetic appeal.
Frankly? You pays your money and makes your choice. The differences are minimal.

Welcome aboard. I've got an SE and a Street Twin. I've ridden the spoked wheeled versions but much prefer the handling of the cast wheels. That said, the spoked wheels do look cool.

Hi Angus, lovely bike. I would be 2 up sometimes but Neither of us are particularly heavy, so hoping that wouldn't be to much of a problem. Ive even ridden OLD Lambrettas & Vespas 2 up in the past!!Plus t120 maybe out my price range and insurance etc will be more as well. We have a Triumph dealer just up the road from me....they only have a street cup to test ride at the moment.

Hi Niko thank you. I was after a scrambler in Khaki green originally when the dealer messed me about after asking about service history and spare keys when I stumbled upon the T100, a private sale...it was over a weekend and all happened very fast, nevertheless I am very happy. The Bonneville always puts a smile on my face when I bimble off somewhere. Considering the facts you have now stated I'm positive the power it has will not disappoint. Good luck with your choice and keep us posted, pictures will obviously be compulsory !

Firstly a warm welcome. But afraid I myself would go with Hack Drivers comment. Its always first battle won and someone to blame if the bike fails to impress. However let us all who wins the battle and I'm you will get it soon. No pictures it didn't happen.

Welcome from sunny California. I like the look of the Newchurch myself and the cast wheels with tubeless tires. Although I like the look of spoked wheels, I am not a fan because you cannot do an emergency roadside flat repair. I have a Street Twin (similar in style to the Newchurch) and always carry a tubeless tire plug repair kit. But whatever you decide, enjoy !!

Hi from not so sunny England . Looks great in silver, I think they do the new t120 in silver. I'm definitely leaning towards the t100...and I'm thinking I'll have a bigger budget after the winter.....and maybe the prices for the 2016 2017 models will come down even lower....even on the a t120?.
