As ever, I have followed my heart and not my head but aided also by fate. I have been trying to test ride an African Twin with DCT - first time was cancelled because I was taken out by a taxi. Today I arrived for my pre booked ride to find the manager had given it to someone else. I was a bit unhappy but to be fair the reason for the test ride was that a number of things were niggling me about the AT and I wanted to be sure before committing to a deal so I think maybe it was not meant to be. Anyway, long story short - my route home took me past a Triumph dealer who offered a test ride there and then on the Tiger. I have an arthritic clutch hand (hence DCT) so the clutch had to be light. An hour later I came back totally in love with the 1050! I have put down a deposit and am now awaiting delivery. Question, as a mature rider what sort of money should I be paying for insurance?
Lol. See insurance thread under General discussion. It is a minefield out there,most of us in here are mature,some of us,me included are well over ripe. Depends on so many factors,where you live, how much experience being just two of them. I am in Birmingham and pay just over 200 quid for my 95 Sprint fully comp,I see others with newer and faster bikes paying a lot less. You need to shop around,use the internet. Is that the Tiger Sport?? Nice bike. If not,it is a Triumph anyway so it will still be a nice bike. Good luck
Welcome in Baben I have just insured my new speed Triple ready for Thursday and it cost just over £40 PLUS my original Street Triple Insurance of the best part of £100 but new quotes as opposed to alterations to an existing policy came in at around £120 - £140 comprehensive including legal cost but excluding helmet & leathers
Welcome to the forum! I'm from Norwich originally and therefore know Norfolk rather well I'm particularly envious of the proximity to the coast!
I live close to Thetford (but not a thetford postcode), and my insurance was £ 400 :-( And thats with no pillion, no track day or other extras. That said I do quite high mileage compared to some, and I haven't been riding long so haven't built up much no claims yet.

Hi! I'm also from Norfolk (Kings Lynn) and my Tiger 955i was around £350 I think, which I thought was quite expensive considering all my other bikes barely cost much over £100. Although I am 22 with 6 years no claims if that makes a difference?
