New Fork Springs

    now I have my new shock on my 2010 speed triple I am going to give the forks a refresh new oil and change the springs to the correct weight. is there any advantage to using progressive springs or would I be better of sticking with standard springs also on this bike the rebound and compression adjusters don't seem to make any difference whatsoever however you adjust them.

    If your changing the standard springs you should also get the forks revalved/calibrated and If the damping settings don't seem to make any difference they probably want looking at anyway.
    I had a new GSXR1100 revalved and adjusted to suit my, not inconsiderable bulk, by Maxtons back in 1992 and the difference was night and day. Not particularly cheap though.
    I fitted some progressive fork springs to my Street Scrambler which greatly improved the crash-bang-wallop of the standard springs on poor road surfaces.

    after giving it a bit of thought because I like the bike and intend keeping it I have decided to get a cartridge kit just ordered a Andreani one from brooks suspension :)
