Hello All, Names Lien and i ride a Daytona 675 2010 plate. new to this forum page and I could do with some help. Due to my circumstance I have had to leave my bike sitting for a few weeks and I come home the other day to find my bike making a high pitch constant whining. It hasn't been started in about 2 weeks battery is connected and so is an aftermarket tracker. Does anyone know what this noise could be ?? I have had an issue with a intermittent high pitch beep which was just a 10amp alarm fuse but this is a constant high pitch tone (possible dead battery I'm not sure) If anyone can help or give some suggestions I'm all ears ! Thanks in advance Lien!
If it was not doing iot before being stood, I would charge my battery first. Also consider why you needed a new battery ? is there something draining it ?
They also had an inline butterfly injector valve on the exhaust system just around the brake pedal area that jammed regularly and made a racket most people removed them. But hope you get it sorted as they are an exciting bike and in my opinion the best that's available. Ride Safe Joe.
Yeah Had the issie with that already. Left it in for the time being but tempted to either remove it or fit a bypass switch. Had the issie where the engine management light stay on all the time took it to dealership and they said it was that butterfly cable jamming open. Said got to open it up and it in cloggsother than these issues I have had I love the bike and don't want to get rid of it but that time is coming hahah
Turns out it wasn't the battery that needed changing in the first place it was somthing to do with charging system. Generator or rectifier I think was the issue I diddnt mind putting a new battery on it anyway so that got sorted and now it usually runs fine. Guess I just got to take it out for a blast more than I do. Shame aswell because it's been nice weather and I have y been able to make the most of it
Lein There was a small batch that did have dodgy rectifiers on check the recall list if it still exists you will find out. But you have a nice machine and don't let these niggly problems get you down. When I see my son who races them I will ask him for the name of the chap that tunes his engines as he was the tester for that bike and rates them highly. See my boys engine when it is tuned and on a track. He scares the life out of me going around somewhere like Brands at ungodly speeds with sparks coming up from his knee pads and pegs. I am so happy he has had this year of but I do know he has two of them sitting in his garage and waiting. You see a bike like the 675 is additive and more so due to its nimble characteristics and achievable speeds. Lots of Luck Joe.
If you can find out the engine tuner and possible let me know as I am currently building a track 675 and could do with having it tuned up a little! Thanks in advance
