    Hello,
My name is Chris, I'm a first time Triumph owner and I fell in love with the Thruxton 1200 R. I had a 1974 CB 750 and a Sym Wolf 150 Classic prior to this bike. Hope to see you out on the rode.
    Cheers,

    Hey everyone,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm planning to do a trip down to Joshua tree at the end of November to get some photographs and camping in. Has anyone journeyed down there that can give me some essential waterholes or spots to hit on my trip?

Hi Welcome and lovely bike..... I need some advice from our more experienced trumpers :) I recently purchased a Sprint 1050 ST 2006 with only 18700Klms on it in pristine condition, my first ever trumpy and I am sold, my previous rides were a mix of dukes and guzzi's, the service book says it was last serviced in 2011 at 18400Klms and given the 3 year period (or Klms) before next service, should I be concerned? It has now 21783Klms on it, should I take it in for a service just to be sure? the oil looks fine but I think tappets are a little noisey, I have also read that the rear wheel bearing should be swapped out for a new one every 20k is this true? also I have purchased handle bar extenders (32mm) for it and I believe the brake cable will need extending, will a GT brake cable fit as they have higher handle bars as standard?, apologies for all the questions.

I'm not very experienced, but I think with the amount of time that has passed, it is probably due for a service. Once you are at the service you can ask about the wheel bearing and brake cable. Also, you could start your own thread in the newbie section and ask these questions. There a plenty of nut jobs that I'm sure would love to answer your questions :p
    Cheers.
