Hope to collect one virtually identical to this before Easter with hi flo pipes and sissy bar for Mrs.Red. Will post pics and ride report.....very impressed with the nimble handling and high speed smoothness on the test bike.
That does look nice - it's got a chrome chain guard ( envy mode on ) - let us know what tyres it comes with could you , just as a matter of interest - mines got Metzelers on at the moment & they're okay , but not great in the wet & when it comes to changing in a couple of months , I might give Bridgestone a go , but I'd be interested to know what they're putting on them from new
Those wheels look nice but are pains in the ....... Oxidation and corrosion set in very quickly. You need a warm dry garage Or you clean and polish them every week whether you've used it or not Or you adopt my approach and clean them then cover with ACF50. Triumph specifically EXCLUDE all polished alloy from their warranty. Other than that it's a brilliant underrated bike. I had one for nearly two years and loved it but keeping on top of the polished alloy was a pain. I have a Commander now and have the same issue with the wheels. A year old and the corrosion has already started........ Thank you Triumph
I guess quite a lot can depend on the test ride & how impulsive you are as a person . I wanted to test ride the Thruxton because I was really looking at getting one (still do tbh) - but I couldn't get a test ride on one , I also wanted to try the Tiger 1050 & the America . As it turned out the America was the one I got a test ride on first & I just thought yeah baby this is great & just bought it . If I'd test ridden one of the others prior to that I may well have bought one of them & I've ridden a Tiger since & don't regret my decision at all , although if I had enough money I'd have all 3 lol . I am saving up for another bike & it'll probably be either a Tiger or a Thruxton , depending on which side of the bed I got out of
Because you don't mind cleaning up dog hairs! Dodge, as a thruxton owner and having been given a thunderbird as a loaner, similar to the America I guess, I was very impressed with the ride and I, like you, given the space and money would add that to my quiver, along with half a dozen others.
