last time i posted i had a t900,but its now gone, but i have some "louder" mufflers from it and wondered if they would work on a new T214,which i now own,or will the efi cause problems as the T900 was carbed, will this make a differnce, thanks chaps for any help.
thank you ,the bikes not turning up till early next year, and then more than likely have to tinker a bit to get them to fit,but yes i will keep you posted, thanks again and have a great xmas and new year, and keep safe if out riding, cheers
White coloured plugs means a very lean mixture and the bike will be running very hot. This can ultimately lead to loss of compression and power due to the formation of a hole in the piston crown. I know this because ..........! Well it was many years ago and it was on a Norton (88 500cc) - someone else's rebuild ... a 1960 engine in a 1958 wideline frame. The back of that petrol tank was wiiiide - if in doubt get a slimline frame. Just sayin'.
I know exactly what you are saying regarding the Norton frames and tanks. Never liked the wideline as much although certain engine maintenance jobs were easier.
Oh yes! And with much interest! That Norton of mine was a nasty piece of work, but between it and my Speed Twin I learned much about motorcycle maintenance. The Speed Twin was actually quite good, but at 18 years of age I really had to have a good look inside it. It even worked when put back together again!!
Hi don't know what happened to my post above, but to read it you need to expand the post, it got scrambled into Dozer's post in the "quote box" pmsl over this cock up on my laser tablet....! DOH !
