I was going to go up today but it’s blowing a hoolie outside. So will miss it for the first time in years. Attendance figures sound like they will be down massively, a real shame for the industry. May look at going to Milan next year…..EIMCA show. https://www.eicma.it/en/
“Blowing a hoolie”. @Oldskool, I’m gonna steal that phrase from you for use here when the Santa Ana winds come through Arizona. Well, if that phrase means what I think it means. What DOES it mean?!
Susie Dent @susie_dent For those asking, the 'hoolie' in 'blowing a hoolie' may come from the Orkney Scots 'hoolan', a strong gale, influenced by the Irish use of 'hooley' for a very noisy party.
I didn't bother, in fact I've not bothered since probably before covid. It's been going down the pan for years while the cost keeps going up for a smaller show. The Caravan and Camping show is IIRC £12 to get in and includes parking and it's much bigger which puts some perspective on it. The woke lot kicking the models off the stands just about sealed it for me, they were always very chatty and really enjoyed working there but somehow others saw fit to deprive them of the right of earning a few quid. Meanwhile at Eicma there's no such nonsense.
