Wifey just heard on radio that Morrisons are reducing fuel prices by up to 12 pence per litre? Just when we won’t need much. Ken.
We run 27 articulated trucks at work, the base price we pay for diesel has been falling for weeks, 14 pence per litre off the net price excluding VAT in the last 3 months, this weeks price £0.86 per litre plus VAT ... for diesel! Our normal spend a week was running at £20-£25K a week, week before last was £18K, last week nearer £15K, this week likely to be £10K. We operate in the container haulage sector, work has died due to the impact of the virus had on manufacture in China following the Chinese New Year shutdown. We have trucks stood every day at the moment, I read about shortages of trucks & drivers in the transport sector, well I have tried punting my spare resource out to the distribution sector, nobody seems to need them, begs the question, what shortage? go figure!
My mate runs his own haulage company, when he advertised for drivers he was inundated, some hadn't worked for weeks. Driver shortage what driver shortage
Just went past my local Asda in Bodmin, Cornwall a couple of days ago and Petrol is £102.7 per litre and diesel £108.7 per litre
Well I never thought I would ever see petrol under a pound ever again. We are living in very strange times.....
It’s all yo do with the Arabs and Russians think the Russians are refusing to cut production to enable a price increase as the Arabs were thinking of this to pump up price per barrel
Demand for fuel is down by almost 70%, many independent garages have still got stock in their tanks which was purchased before the latest price drops, they are now in the unenviable position of having to either sell at a loss to compete or risk not selling it at all.
Don’t worry prices will rise soon, Trump is trying to stimulate the oil prices with his tweets. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/o...-russia-saudi-feud-can-be-resolved-2020-04-02
