I also looked at a ratio calculator on how many time the same link of chain goes over the same sprocket on the front and rear. With the 2 up on the rear and 1 down on the front this gave the highest ratio (lowest number of link over the same tooth) possible, so the wear rate would be a lot more spread out, and not so localized on the chain
