My new to me 2011 T100 needed a new set of shoes to pass safety. I ended up choosing the Michelin Road Classics. Sure is different from the 6 year old Bridgestone BT45. Can’t wait to try them out.
Just bought a new road classic for my 2020T100.....not got around to fitting it yet....want to wear out the original Pirelli a bit more. Do you know they are a X-Ply Tyre?
I had a flat on one a couple weeks ago. New bikes about 700 miles on it. Picked up a screw. It vibrated a little. But seem to be ok at 70 mph. About 15 miles later it developed a terrible vibration. I pulled over and seen it was flat. The stiffer sidewalls keep the tire from flatting out. I am sold on them the tube had shred it’s self and became a large ball. That was the vibration. Destroyed the tire but easiest flat, to control, I have ever had
Back in the good old days, Landrovers ( series 2, so around 1960 origin) had crossply tyres fitted. On a cold winters morning the tyres had 'set' overnight with a nice flat spot at the bottom due to the weight. The wheels felt like they were square for the first mile until they got some heat ( friction) into them...... bump, bump, bump .... the vibration was quite intense and unnerving until you understood the issue.
Yes my Series 3 had crossplys.....in the wet it was like driving on sheet ice.....terrible things.....steering was lighter though.
