Just wondering if anyone has issues with the 3-1 arrow system backfiring? It seemed fine until I got the arrow map installed but now backfires massively on the overrun. A few pops and bangs I can live with but this seems excessive. Any ideas please?

    Hi pal,

Do you have the baffle in?

When mine was out it's far too loud and pops and bangs alot. Also noticed a bit of a flat spot, put the baffle in and runs better, no flat spot and no back firing. Although you do lose the pops but I'd prefer that. And fuel efficiency seems to be better.

Try running the 15 min tune or adaptive. They may have not done it properly when the Arrow tune was loaded. Happened to me twice

Did you run the low boy prior to the remap ? I guess I am asking if you can compare before and after... mine pops a we bit but not much. Sounds like the map though...

Yes I ran it with the system before remapping and it seemed much better with less popping.

I think it goes - warm up, then switch off and restart without touching the throttle. Let it run for ten minutes while the ECU fine tunes and adapts to the engine.

On a cold engine, start without touching throttle or any controls. Let it run for 15 min or until fan kicks in. Don't touch the throttle or do anything till it completes. The dealers do this after loading new maps. While it's running the ECU resets to the loaded map.
Twice lthe dealer did mine, once on a warm engine and second time when the forgot to reset wrench icon which messed up the adaptive.

The same thing is happening to me, I took it in for a service and they put the low boy map on without asking. I thought nothing of it at the time, it pops more on the over run and it seems to be more vibey.
Third gear used to be my gear of choice but now I find myself changing up earlier because of how it sounds. They did a full reset and tune on my bike at the time so I doubt a 15 min tune will make any difference. I am getting used to it now but I think I prefered it without the tune.

I must admit it did feel better before the remap. 15 minute tune didn't change anything so I might get the original map put back on and get it checked on a dyno to make sure I'm not doing any damage

Killswitch is great for causing back fires. Particularly when you are in a tunnel:imp::imp:

My ZRX 1100 was good for that, but can you do it on a fuel injected bike?
