Hello people I'm looking to get a battery for my street triple 675R as mine is on its way out . I only ride the bike as and when I get the time. Unfortunately I don't have the facilities to keep it on charger. And to top it up the bike sits under the cover in an underground car park in the cold weather. So I'm looking to get a battery that requires minimum maintenance and decent cranking power. The bike has tracker and standard triumph immobiliser. These are the 2 things that's drawing current when not in use . I am not sure if there is a solution. Just thought I'd ask if anyone is in a similar situation to me and what battery you are using. I'm looking for something with a better CCA (as my is exposed to cold weather ) among other things. Thanking you all kindly H
In the winter every time I leave the bike for a day or more the battery comes home with me and if it sits for more than 5 or 6 days I put it on charge till full. In the summer it stays in the bike. Only takes 2 minutes two screws. Yuasa MF YTX14 good battery. Keep the old one and swap out. Use the old one as a tender, just a suggestion.
Thanks guys ^^^ I was even looking at the solar power charger from sportsbikeshop but I'll need to get the Oxford cover with the window for the solar power to work. This way I can always leave the new battery on charger. Just a thought
Old workmate swore by his solar panel and old car batteries, for his lock up Cheaper perhaps to just have two batteries, if you use the charged one to start her.
