So I don't have add another hook up lead and use the lighter plug that's supplied with it. Failing that I'll make up something to plug into my. Optimate socket. It's an oxford solar charger you see!

Cheers DD, I've found one can't charge through the lighter socket. So will go for one of these and get a tm connector fitted to the end of the solar panel wires. Job'll be a good one. :D

Nah the optimate 3 has sae connectors, so I have one wired to the battery. The solar panel comes with a variety of attachments. So I need to snip the end off one and attach it to that tm to sae adapter. I was hoping that the cigarette lighter option would work to save me all the bother.

I just bought a £2,50 plug and put it on the lead that I had connected to the battery on my previous bike. Socket on the bonneville america just goes through a couple of fuses and to the battery no canbus nonsense.

I had a cable with 2 ring terminals connected to the battery on a previous bike, I just cut off the ring terminals and fitted a plug that matches my accessories socket. This small lead plugs into the accessories socket at one end oxford charger cable at the other end. You can buy a cable from Oxford to do this but as I had half already I just fitted a £2,50 plug.
