    IMG_Tiger_25.jpg Hello People,

I'm riding a 2001 Tiger 955i. This is probably almost the most inappropriate choice that I could have made. The last time I had a leg over a motorcycle was in 1978 on a borrowed XR250. I'm 5'8" 150 pounds with my gear. The bike is too tall, too heavy and too powerful and my wife says I'm too old for this. When I was shopping around this striped beast was in the best condition for the price I could afford and I thought her beautiful, so here we are. I figured that I shouldn't lose too much if I decided that motorcycling wasn't fun and I had to resell it :D.

I'm somehow still alive after a few thousand miles and some spills on the unpaved Arizona trails as can be witnessed from the road rash on the old girl and I'm still loving it !

Right now I'm fighting with the usual 955i charging issues. I have a new stator on order and will be replacing that this month. Next will be to address the gorilla clutch pull. The cosmetic fixes will come later.

Welcome from KS, last summer I took my SV650 wheels into a triumph dealer to have new tires mounted, and spotted a white 765 street triple RS on the showroom floor and love at first sight. I had always bought used bikes before. I thought what the hell, I have been riding for 50 years so a new bike for the 50th anniversary. 03 SV650 only had 75 hp, new Triumph 120hp and only about 380 lbs. Rode it home and the wife wanders out into the garage and says what the hell is that? I said my new bike. She says we didn't discuss this, and it's a selfish purchase. I pointed to her jewelry and said so is that. She stomps off. Twist the throttle, and the grin lasts for days, power out of a corner, ditto, ditto, ditto. Most fun a 60 year old can have with his clothes on or any other age for that matter.

    Welcome.
I ride one of these as my daily runner ....bought my first one a couple of years back...loved it so much I put 30k miles on it that year!
On my second one now ....has the sasquatch reg/ rec conversion done plus a silvers rear shock.
Terrific bike...so underrated and cheap as chips.
    Enjoy

Hi chiari1, I got a bike thinking that it would improve the prospects of getting a leg over in that department as well, but it does not seem to have had the desired effect. Perhaps need a sexier model?
