Many Thanks, Old bike injury when i was 18 coming back to haunt me again. (see LOVE STORY) I was hoping to have this bike season before getting it done , but im really strugling even getting my leg over the Bike is painful.... Shes very understanding
I work in the forest so use quite a few different remedies. Both of those you have suggested have been used by me in the past.
Totally agree - my wife suffers terribly from midge and all other insect bites but got pointed to the Avon spray by someone and her using it since has made a massive difference.
@Vulpes Don't beat yourself up. None of this was your fault and can be disappointing. But at least you are on the mend and Ireland is going nowhere so you can do it all again. Just get yourself fully fit and enjoy your biking.
Cheers @joe mc donald . New bike is ready to take delivery, I had a look at it yesterday. Looks brilliant in Carnival Red. Hopefully pick it up in a weeks time...
@Havit Hope all goes well with your knee op, Wayne! Seems like many of us are getting old(er) and parts are wearing out. I do remember that horrible bike accident and also that wonderful LOVE STORY!
Yes, You are not wrong about getting older, Aches and pains after a bike ride.Im finding long rides are painful, I did a 200 mile tour with a group of mixed bikes in Essex Sunday, I was in bits Monday . You cant let it beat you,I am going on a day trip to France/ Belgium Monday to Ypres and Dunkirk Beach. I booked half day at work on Tuesday morning.
You're right...can't let it beat you! One of my mottos has become "Use it or lose it!" I have a friend who is an occupational therapist who tells her patients, "Motion is lotion." Have a great time on your France/Belgium day trip! Please share a few photos and some commentary with us if you think of it.
Will do Sandi, I won't be on my Triumph, I'm taking my winter project bike.A Honda Silverwing 600. I brought it because of my knee as it's a twist and go. She was a right mess when I got her last year. I took off all the tupperware and replaced fork seals and oil, wheels were were rotten with corrosion, brake discs need replacing and callipers rebuilt, carbs needed cleaning, I painted up all metal parts and solved the dead engine issue that happened to be a switch on the front brake.plus new Shocks , This will be my first real run on her. She had been parked up for years in a damp garage , she only has ,9000 miles on her. I'm confident she will get me there and back . It's a cheap day out as the Ferry is only 20 quid return with P&O.I'm making the most of my move to Kent.
