HI Folks, I have a 2022 Bonneville T120. Hit a pot hole. The right front fork is leaking oil and squeaks. I ordered the oil seal and a set of progressive springs in preparation for repair because this is not covered by the warranty. Do any of you know how much oil should go in to each fork? What type of oil? Where I can get this information in published form? Many thanks for your feedback.
Hi there. Did you say to the dealer that that happened? If not, you can get them to change it as it would be a warranty issue otherwise I suspect as you could just say it started leaking?
The Motorcycle Service Handbook that comes with the bike says "The warranty does not cover...blah blah etc.... defects to the front fork oil seals as they are subject to wear and tear including but not limited to damage caused by stone chips to the inner fork tubes." So whether I say I did it or not won't matter - fork seals are not covered by the warranty. But, yes, just to be sure I did talk to my dealer and they said that it is not covered. But...yes I did say I smashed a pot hole. It's the way I am. I can't help it.
My first option would be to ask the dealer for the correct oil type and air gap. If they're not complete ass holes they will happily give you this info, I know my dealer would.
