Just a quick hello to fellow Trumpet fans/owners , have meant to join a triumph forum for a while now after the last one I frequented ,Triumph Torque , shut down :( .
Been riding for 45 years , mostly sports bikes , but switched to more upright bikes with the Speed triple 1050 firstly a few years ago . Love triumph bikes , build quality is top notch and are IMO pretty much competitive in the genre that they field their bikes .
Currently have a 2007 865 T100 carb , not standard , and in fact a lot better than you would expect , that's from what I remember . hoping we can get out riding at some point this year and maybe meet up with other members ,fingers crossed :)

Welcome to the family. Do hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and let the inmates see the steed. And if you want my opinion you found a far superior club now. Here the inmates will laugh with you or at you if you slip up or cry with you but every single one of them will stand by you and treat you like family. They are the nicest bunch you will ever want to meet. I have met with a couple not riding but just to say hello and like you want to get to the GMU soon to see them all or most that are there.
    Regards & Ride Safe
    Joe.

Wow , that's a fair few welcome posts , thanks very much . Hopefully I've uploaded a couple of pics of my bike properly , taken a year old so , there is a few other tweaks been done since then . Bought it around 3 years ago from a guy who owns Triumph Custom Parts , Pete Waldram , and he really only had the bike so he could make the templates for the parts which he put on the bike and left them on when I bought it . I upgraded shocks last year to Nitron ( I really need to check and see if mine are rubbing the frame ) , improved the handling 5 fold , even from the Hagons it was riding on .

Nice looking machine but I'm surprised you need a steering damper!

Yes ,interesting poser for sure . I bought the bike with the damper on , so never really thought about taking it off tbh . It's set on the minimum , and I have never had a "moment" on the bike , but is that the working damper working or just the bike is stable enough to not warrant it . Is it worth taking it off then finding you've lost control and heading to the nearest hedge  ? I'm inclined to think I'll leave it as is :).
BTW , nice to see you on here GTBBOTW

A steering damper is only really needed if the head angle is very steep, (aggressive sports bike), making the bike twitchy at the front and prone to getting into a tank slapper. With the shallow angle of yours it should be really stable. I'm surprised that there was even one available for it to be honest.
