Had a moment on ebay and it seems I'm now the proud owner of a '96 Tiger 885 project bike.

Just thought I'd poke my head around the door, say hi and ask for any advise on sourcing parts and manuals, handy web site links and such, problems to look out for, and of course peoples experience of this machine.

Looks like I might have a busy winter.

    Thanks.

    Rob.

    He folks.

    Thanks for a fantastic welcome.
I'm expecting the bike in the next hour or two. As yet I haven't seen it in the flesh.

Regarding pictures, she doesn't look her best currently, but I will be taking before and after pics, and a few in the middle I suspect as I get the bike on the road. I'll probably post them on-line somewhere and might even do a blog of the rebuild. (I'm better at the web than with the oily bits ;) ) I'll post links on here somewhere if anyone wants to follow the progress.

Looking good so far. The good old Haynes Manual is on ordered. The Bike is about to be delivered. Just need to shovel out the shed to make some space now.

I'll post a pic tonight hopefully and I'll be back to bug you all for info soon.

    Not yet....
Turns over ok. Will check the spark tomorrow and have a look at the carbs 'n' tank. Make sure everything is clean.

I'm loving the tarmac on the tank. I think that's what was used to paint it.

Have loads of paperwork with the bike. Dyno stuff, receipts for racing exhausts etc so somebody spent a lot of money on her. Was a while back though :)

Lots of plastics, clocks and wiring MIA.

But good use of zip ties thoughout.

Should keep me out of trouble for a while.

I will enjoy watching the project unfold, Steamers are great bikes. Yes it will keep you out of trouble......or put you in it, for a while. I see you have ordered the haynes manual for it, if you need the triumph service manual I can give you a link to it, like the haynes it covers all the T300 carburated bikes. Good luck and keep posting pics as you go.

A link to the service manual would be much appreciated.
Is there a parts list anywhere ?
Would be really handy to be able to find part numbers.

Currently I'm taking pictures as I work on bits. I plan to blog it so I know what came from where, and have have a chance of putting it back together again :)
I'll stick it online and post a link once I'm organised.

    Cheers.
