It is with great sadness my friend, Help me Obi One, of nearly 40 years passed away suddenly after a long and hard fought battle against cancer. From stage 3 to 4 in a matter of weeks. It was mercifully quick at the end and he didn't suffer much, only a few close friends where there at the end to see him off on a new journey. Death is another journey all of us have to take. A life long bachelor, he was one of those rare breed of people who was equally happy in the company of others and equally happy to be on his own. As Billy Joel sang, "he didn't have time for a wife". He would like to thank everybody who he interacted with on this site and hope he didn't upset too many people and if he did, please forgive him. Thank you all for giving me this space to talk about Obi Wan. Fare thee well old friend, I'll look for you in the stars.
Such tragic news, I only knew Obi through this forum and have enjoyed his wit and wisdom and will miss him terribly. Its like loosing a best mate.
Taken way too soon by a cruel, bastard of a disease, so sorry to read this. Thank you for passing on the saddest of messages on his behalf, he rides with the angels now, of that there is no doubt. Love, courage and strength to all who knew him personally.
Very sad news indeed, losing my dad earlier this year to that awful disease I know the hurt it leaves behind, as above, Obi brought many laughs and interesting comments to us all on here and he will be sadly missed, my thoughts are with you.
Such tragic news My thoughts are with those left behind at this difficult time Stay strong and remember the good times
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Obi Wan's passing. I will miss his warmth and humour. It is difficult to know what to do in times like these. I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sad news indeed. To those that knew him stay strong and I’m sure he’ll be in your memory forever. RIP Obi Wan.
Such sad news, & must have been hard for you to write, he was a very interesting character & contributor to this forum. I now how hard it is to lose a good friend, my thoughts are with you.
So sad to hear , he made an impact in his short time here. I had the opportunity to give him a bit of a telling off, he took it square on the chin, apologised and we chatted by PM on a couple of occasions after that. So different, from most I have the misfortune to give a bollocking. Gained my respect instantly. Brilliant attitude to cancer, inspiration to us all, but such a sad loss.
May the Force be with you, and you be one with the Force. Like Qui Gon's image, your words will be with us always. Terrar, ar kid. Adie
Help Me Obi Wan... attitude to life and his terminal fate reminds me of my dear brother who also succumb to cancer in 2017. Their positive fark you cancer attitude ensured they lived to the max until the end. It was a pleasure to have interacted with you sir and may your eternity be filled with joy, say hi to my brother for me, he'll be the one at the bar buying everyone drinks, telling jokes and generally raising havoc.
Such Very sad News, I am sorry for your loss of such a respected member of this forum, I too only knew him from here and know I too shall miss him for the few short exchanges we had. For those left behind I wish you all the strentgh and peace he would have wished for you himself. RIP @Help me Obi Wan...
Although he knew his time on earth was almost up, he had a great attitude to life and death,RIP Obi Wan
RIP, Obi. I can only agree with what has already been said. You will be missed hereabouts. The forum has lost a good friend. But I would like to say thank you to the OP for letting us all know the sad news.
