Hello everyone. Traded my R1 in for a street triple r, which im enjoying so far. But now im wondering if i've made a mistake and should of gone for the more powerfull speed triple instead :/ Oh well we'll see what happens this summer. Hopefully if there's any groups of you that go for regular ride outs in the midlands area, and don't mind one more tagging along then give us a shout. It's getting a bit boring riding out on my own now.
Hi and welcome to the forum Don't think that buying the Street Triple R is a bad move. It really depends on how tall you are as the Speed Triple is quite a bit bigger and also what sort of riding style you have? The Speed Triple is a fantastic bike but the Street Triple is something else when you want to get a shift on in the twisty stuff :biggrin: No the bike won't have as much bhp as your R1 but the Street Triple engine has a brilliant reputation and it seems to get voted as best engine year on year so they must be doing something right. Hi hello and welcome to our little forum. I'm probably not that far from you just the other side of Ashby de la Zouch. I agree with everything Steve has said, most things are going to feel a little slow after an R1. I certainly would not say you've made a mistake buying the Street instead of the Speed, allot depends on your riding style and your size. I've ridden both, my personal choice was the bigger Speed as I'm well over 6ft tall and nearly as wide My view is the Street will out handle the Speed in the twisties and 0- 70 mph there would be very little between the machines. Over 80 the 130bhp of the Speed will come into play but keep high speeds up for long on either bike and the neck starts to give up. I think the additional revs on the 675 motor, the intoxicating induction roar when the bike is revving and it's flickable handling make the Street a very good machine.
Cheers for the replies everyone. I do sometimes feel like i must look a little silly on the bike, im around 6ft 2 and it does feel a little small underneath me sometimes. Oh well if i do trade it in, no doubt i'll trade it for another Triumph, i've had 3-4 different Triumphs the past few years now, i do love the Brand :smile:
