Just about to acquire an old Thunderbird, and looking forward to bringing it back to life. (maybe)
Thought this forum may have some Like minded lads, who remember British bikes at there best.
Maybe ask a few stupid questions, take on a bit of Banter...:).
With the hope of enjoying a decent ride next Summer.
    Regards...Bob.

Hi and welcome. Good luck on your venture.

Yo Mos, daft sods R us :D Pic please, just sold my 63 Tbird, looking perhaps the 3TA route next. Had a tricked up 2009 SE Bonnie til my mate argued with rain, wall, and bush on his Victory. He always wanted my Bonnie (as I said " Daft Sod" ) before Big Lad an Tigcraft point it out heh heh heh...;)

    Hi.. UPDATE....
Here's the story up till today.... A 1959 Triumph Thunderbird 2 owners from new, all documents in place, Frame Stove enamelled, Complete Bike... matching numbers....38 thou on the clock.... Engine and box been totally stripped and checked by students at Stafford college.. Offer's around £3.000. Present owners health deteriorating forces sale.

The Truth of the story, after my visit, with the cash in my pocket, and slightly a aroused sensation LOL:D
Forks Bent, most of the panels missing, Wheels ,Tank and the rest red rusty,
The Engine & gearbox were in a box in a thousand bits, floating in an inch of water, red rusty and one engine case missing with no two parts together..... 90% no use at all.

I estimate around 4/5 grand to put it right, which puts in the financial suicide bracket.
£7.000 would buy one done ready for use... not as if I was looking for running bike, the fun for me is bringing them back to life.

The Bloke seemed quite a genuine sort.... I think he's heard somewhere the old bikes are worth vast amount's of money... or he's got some really good Jamaican tobacco.

So rather than insult him or spoil his delusion I became a Tyre Kicker and said I would consider it, and politely left.

    Regards Bob...

PS any one braver than me interested give me a PM and I will forward his details on. Also any body with a half decent project, give us a shout, any thing considered.
