Damn you Ron. You just cost me £250. Tried for feckin' ages to get Google Maps App on to my crappy Nokia Windows phone. Jeez what a frustrating experience. So had to go on to Ebay to buy a refurbed Galaxy S6. I suppose it does mean I won't be banging my head against the wall every day now, cos that Nokia really is headbanging $h1t at the best of times.

btw, nice route and good on yer for going to all that trouble of riding your bike round cracking nice countryside just for us inmates going out on a weekend pass.

I Have plotted both the Saturday and Sunday RideOuts using Garmin Basecamp. If anyone wants the files to import in their copy of Basecamp then send me a PM with your email address and I will send them to you.

    Route App?

I use a Garmin Sat Nav, so use Garmin Basecamp to plot routes.

I gave up trying to fathom out base camp - what a waste of effort! It couldn't direct me to the end of the road!
Will be subscribing to my route now. :)

Yes it is crappy. But now I have worked out how to plot a route and download it to my SatNav I can live with it.

But if I put in Bellingham and ask it to work out a route from my home it comes up with the weirdest route imaginable. Miles and miles longer minor roads.

Myroute-app. Com is a website that uses Google maps to plot routes on and then send to your garmin satnav. I couldn't get base camp downloaded, so had to use myroute. Useful tool and there's a triumph forum group to join and share routes, that's where I put the routes for the GMU.
Sign up and just ask to join and I'll put you on. If your struggling to do it, ask on the satnav thread, or just read thru it, most problems sorted by now.

I'm using a map, DO YOU REMEMBER THEM..? well A4 paper with roads to take, Its Brill, pick the fastest or scenic route and print it out on a A4, . Tank bag and A4. happy days.

    Old bike old style :p

If pens up for it I might do the Essex run as well. Bellingham to Essex then over to Wales back home, just over 1000k sounds like a plan. Might need a A3

If you're just going out for a ride and don't need to carry anything get a white board marker and write on your mirrors!.....wipe off when you're home again (old police riders tip):p
