We could also do with some more itinery suggestions.

 

I agree with Germany.

 

Works for me - kow all of those places and happy to go again.

 

And those wanting a longer trip like me could ride off to the Harz mountains.

 

and colditz,if i'm going to Germany and it's 125mls from the harz mountains I don't want to miss that if i'm that close.

 

Last time I visited Colditz castle it was a Hospital (way back in the days of the DDR). I've got plenty of tales to tell about my three visits to the DDR (Communist German Democratic Republic).
Whilst on the subject of the DDR at Helmstedt there's the Border crossing museum (which is very interesting). So any Harz visits count me in.

 

Good man,Now I have just done a deal for a better bike for the trip also,traded in my tiger 800 for the explorer.

 

Trophycat,look forward to you telling me a tale or two over a german lager.

 

Weissbier, pork knuckle and pretzel for me. (not sure about the spelling but it's meant to mean German clear wheat beer)

I don't think anyone has actually said that they want to camp. I know I won't be.
What would you like the final location to be ?

I just made 2 very memorable roadtrips:

One down to the river Jagst (check out Jagsthausen on Google) and along that river's valley.
And today I just returned from one of my absolute favorites: the Rhön
(not Rhine!) Check out Wasserkuppe, a famous old glider airfield.
The biggest town adjacent to the west is Fulda.
The roads there are pristine and the Rhön offers lots of spectacular views, a little like the Highlands.

Hey Ken,Iv'e never met anybody either,just happy to go somewhere with like minded people,if I left it to my local triumph owners I wouldn't get out of the county,but I hate riding round on my own so looking forward to this.
