Evening folks

I just wanted to introduce myself, I ride a (14) Speed Triple but just chopped in my KTM SMT today for a (15) Tiger 800 xcx so i’ll probably have a lot of questions to ask soon particularly tyres for the xcx, it will initially be for predominantly road riding but possibly more of mix after a bit of training. Any recommendations appreciated.

Hello Wavy and welcome to the forum

At present on my XC I’ve got Michelin Annakee 3’s which are 90/10 road bias and I find them far better than the original Pirelli Scorpions that the bike came with.
You’ll find that with the XC range having a 21” front wheel you’ll not have the same choice of rubber that the Tiger 800 roadie models have.

Thanks DD, you really a Bushmills man? I spent way to much of my youth around the port, Kelly’s, etc etc

 

Thanks Andy, narrowed it down to Continental Tail Attack 2’s, TKC 70’s or the Michelin Anakee’s I think.

 

Thanks Tiglet, it’ll be them or Continental’s, been doing a bit of internet research today, so I just need to be honest with myself about the ratio I need, i’d guess 80/20 would be a fair start point. Downloaded a green laning map of Kent today and there’s shitloads of it on my doorstep.
