    Hi all,

I'm new here! Just got myself a 2011 Speed Triple 1050, it's my second bike and I seem to have a smile on my face permanently whilst riding this! Loads of fun, I did the classic motorcyclist thing and parked up in a field for a photoshoot so posted the best picture below... the bike is as stock as they come, and so any tips or advice on anything from parts to riding technique and things to look out for would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Andy

Hi Andy, the world is your lobster when it comes to modding the Speed Triple, bar end mirrors, low boy three in to one exhaust and tail tidies are all popular.

Welcome aboard Andy, hope you'll enjoy the forum, I've had my first Triumph, also a Speedy, for just over a year now and love it, one of the first things I did was to lose the twin under seat arrows and fit a low slung Scorpion can, in my view it looks 100% nicer and reduces weight by a fair old chunk, remember if you did fancy changing the cans she'll need a remap to suit, enjoy your new steed and have fun making her your own.

What a nice bike and a great picture. Welcome to the Family. That bike should satisfy the inmates tonight and Nursey will get a break. I was up at the H café in Wallingford today. There was a group of about five speedies there and when they were leaving it was like music the sound and whir of those triple engines nothing like it.
    Ride Safe & Enjoy
    Joe.

Good Evening & welcome to the site. Bike looks good. I have Speed S which I got in May last year. I always feel prevention is better than cure so I got a rad guard & oil cooler guard. Also got some R&G bungs on just in case. Plenty of companies out there do stuff. Other thing I got was a decent horn! Enjoy the hot summer which will soon be here!

Thanks for that info Dave, the exhaust does seem to add a large fraction of weight! Is it a Scorpion Serket you've gone for?

Hi Joe, thanks very much! I've never been to Wallingford before but think I'll include it on my hunt for other speedies! I know exactly what you mean about the triple engine whir, it sounds awesome.

Thank you for your advice samsdad, those tweaks are most likely among the first I'll make, aswell as security! Do you have any security measures you think are best?
