Hi Gary and welcome in.
Hope your health issues are soon resolved. I got to know the inside of the oncology unit at Castle Hill Hospital, Hull, far too well when SWMBO had cause to use its facilities and expertise. Not a lot of fun to be had there, sadly. At least she managed to avoid chemo if not radiotherapy.

So, mulling it all over; considering costs, my time away from bikes, age (!) etc, I ordered a street twin on a month delivery. All very sensible.
Went to the dealers the day after to pay the deposit etc, and found myself standing next to a white Thruxton that was in stock. Inevitably, the order for the street twin was canned, and I was back two days later to ride away on the Thruxton! Absolutely magic! I clocked up 1400 miles to the middle of January, and am absolutely delighted with it. Love the looks, the handling, the engine, (smooth or what!) and the electronic gizmos. Brilliant.
By late January, the chemo and radio had laid me out, so have not been out since then, but another couple of weeks should see me back in the saddle. Can't wait!

Lot's of really positive things about the bike, but a couple of little niggles as well:-
Corrosion on the engine cases. This was after a month, and a long time before the roads were gritted. Will be the subject of another post methinks.
No centre stand.
Very limited accessories - the original literature included a grab handle, but was never available is not shown now.

But really just want to get back on it now!

Wow! Not seen a white Thruccy before, it looks the Mutts Nuts - really nice.
