I was out and about last night, quite a cool night after a blazing hot, quite humid day. The roads were quite glossy in the dark, I suppose the humidity had condensed out.. the bike really felt quite skittish on the back roads, not very pleasant at all. Quite a difference from the old Sportster, which shows its lumbering good nature in such conditions (I never rode the Honda VT750S in the wet) I'm strongly minded, at this point, to get on the phone to Hagons. However I do notice that the current T100 seems to have power and Torque curves very like the older (pre-EFI) Sportster and I'm wondering, how much difference does this make to the overall feel of the bike? I always liked the "solid mount" Sportsters, I couldn't get into the present near-600lb behemoth with its well-documented quality control issues, but the constant, minor vibration issues get old...
Bike has Metzelers, I assume that at a little over 2000 miles from new, they are still the originals. It was definitely not hot tarmac, it was quite marked on the back roads (mostly between banks or overhung by trees) and much less so on the main road My 1992 XL 883 had Metzelers and I replaced them with Cobras as they fell due, which seemed to be a considerable improvement
