I have a 2014 1200 Tiger Explorer that has developed a problem with the headlights.
The headlight has stopped working on both dipped & main beam, though the headlamp flash still works. I replaced the headlamp relay, no change, checked the wiring to the switchgear under the tank & all appears clean.

Has anyone come accross anything similar?

    Brian.

I would have thought that would have effected the headlamp flasher also, but it works fine.

Are fuses clean and not blown ?
    As flash bypasses them ?

Check inside switch block , disassemble it and check power is coming in and getting out through the switch. The Post's / contacting surfaces can become a dry joint , no power can travel through the thinnest coating of corrosion !!

Hello everyone. New to the forum here. I have a 2017 Explorer 1200 XCa that I just turned 30k miles. I have had no issues until the headlights went out. Discovered one of the bulbs was burned out and replaced it. No high or low beam light but they will flash on momentarily when switching between high beam and low beam and vice versa. Replaced the 2nd bulb which did not appear to be burned out as well as the relay in front of the battery. Neither resolved the issue. Sounds very similar to Brian's issue. I did open up the dimmer switch on the handlebar but it appeared pretty clean in there so I didn't break it down completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
