Has anyone got any gems of info for getting breakdown cover for a European trip?
Going for 10 days in June, ferry to Santander riding through to Andorra and into France before coming back through to Santander.
Just got a quote to add Euro cover to my existing UK AA at £42 extra for unlimited breakdowns and accommodation plus repatriation of me and the bike back to the UK if worst happens.

My insurance is up for renewal before I go so may be able to add Euro cover cheaper then.

I will need this for the German trip later this year. Didn't get it with the insurance this time but would like a policy which covers me not a specific bike.

I got AA UK cover, to add the European for the trip I had to give reg and model etc, if I change bike before going I would have to let them know so not like the UK cover where I am covered not the vehicle.
When I used to insure through Carole Nash I had to phone and advise them I was going abroad.

Thanks for the concern DD but I won't go without cover, just seeing if anyone had a wonderful bargain site that cost less :D, I tried compare the market and it ranged for £30 to £40, TBH I would go with the AA if that's all the saving is, might see what Carole Nash insurance is this year compared to Bennett's/compare the market etc.

Worth checking through CN; I have just placed a multi-bike policy through them and European cover is included.

I think I'll have a look at just including it with AA cover at renewal as I nearly always go away into Europe on the bike each Summer, just need to get cover for this trip in the meantime.

My Trident is too old to get breakdown insurance for it easily, so I go for policies that include it e.g. Carol Nash.
There are others which do tend to show up on comparison websites. There's a new company started up recently in Peterborough, who's name I can't remember, that seem to getting good reviews. May be worth searching for. If I remember who they are I will let you know, unless someone else beats me to it.
