Evenin' all, I went to Poole ,then onto Normandy at the end of this week . about 50 miles into france my engine light came on but I didn't fancy stopping in the middle of the motorway so I carried on to a junction and petrol station -before I turned the engine off, I still had lots of fuel left . I filled the bike up, started it again , light still on but it worked fine and I had forgot to top up my RAC so I carried on ! I stopped somewhere for a couple of hours -to view a house- and it was still on . It went off after about 30 miles total and hasn't been back on since.. Has anybody had this ? BY the way, my arse was killing me when I got to the ferry , and when I got back to Exmouth. The light struggled in the night fog, I was trundling a couple of times .
It could have been anything, but probably something upset the emissions or such like, which cleared and you probably did the 3 stop start cycles which cleared the light, sort of, maybe!!
Thanks Mr C. As expected, My saab used to do it once a month. Imagine how much money is wasted , going to a dealer when (usually) there's no need .i'd forgotten about the 3 stop/starts altho i think it went off while moving .
Hi I went up to Carlisle last weekend halfway there engine light comes on ended up at kc super bikes Monday morning there's a wire / cable that runs behind rear brake pedal had come loose and was touching exhaust. Might be worth a look.
