Been having problems first thing headlights start flickering, then the speedo starts giving false reading even when stationary, then engine management light comes on then it cuts out and everything goes dead. If I turn ignition on and off again it starts then after a Mile or two engine management light goes out. According to diagnostics it system voltage problem. Has anyone had any similar problems or has any ideas I'd be grateful for info. Have had new battery and new relays. Thanks.

Could be the battery itself breaking down, or more likely as said, connection problem.
If you haven't got battery discharge tester, most places will test it for free....or if you are anywhere near Christchurch, I will.

Are you getting a constant voltage to battery with engine running? Was thinking rectifier/regulator?

Definitely sounds like a earth type problem.

Think the peeps are right here you got a faulty earth. Check for corrosion and loose wires especially around your battery and ignition switch.
    Regards
    Joe.

    Hi there!
I read about a bike with a problem VERY much the same and turned out to be a rec/reg. The windings had a problem.
His was a honda but the systems were the same. He had his re-wound and viola, up and running.
    Worth a look.
