had a ride down to weymouth today this is the b3157 from west bay to weymouth fantastic views over Chesil beach
I've been to chesil beach ! My Nanna lived in Maiden Newton in Dorset , visited several times between the ages of 9 and 12 , Dad was British Army REME , stationed in Germany. We visited relatives most Christmas's I have relatives in Birmingham, Leeds , London and more. Some relatives I only saw/met once ... As Dad served overseas for 20 years out of the 24•5 years of service . And now recently found out I have niece who got married and settled in Adelaide SA. It's a small world indeed and only getting smaller .
I have stopped in that layby many times fantastic view just past abbotsbury and before west bexington lovely bit of mackrell fishing there follow that road into west bay lovely pub on the right called the Bull small area called Swyre.
Same here, spent many nights winter and summer fishing off the beach there myself. Pulled in an army kit bag full of Mackerel once off the beach at West Bexington. Abbotsbury was a favourite for Bass although I never caught one I though was big enough to take home for supper although West Bay Harbour was great for Mullet Sorry I know, its a bike forum That road is awesome, rode it loads of times with Rudeboy and fished with him. The "Blind Summit" gets me every time, as I approach I start thinking "I'm not going to brake, I'm not going to brake" get to the summit guess what, can't help myself especially in the car
