    I remember going up the spiral staircase around the Laxey Wheel tower when I was last there (1980 or'81 if memory serves). I froze:eek: - wasn't going up and certainly wasn't going to turn around and go back down:worried:. Up until then, heights hadn't really bothered me. I eventually got to the top and ultimately got myself back down but it was certainly a 'never again' moment. I guess it was the narrow staircase and the flimsy railings that got me going. Probably.
