After convincing myself that I didn't need one of these as it was simply a gadget I finally bought one of these. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chain-Monk...8&qid=1548076238&sr=8-1&keywords=chain+monkey If you've adjusted a chain on a single sided swingarm with an eccentric hub you'll know that the smallest adjustment moves the chain a lot. The first few attempts of tightening my chain and having to loosen, then re-tighten, measure, tighten, measure, loosen etc etc etc. With this handy tool, you put it on the chain, tighten your chain, tighten the lock bolt and take the monkey off. All done perfectly. It now takes a few minutes to set my chain perfectly. Highly recommended
I have just used mine for the firs time on the Speedie. Unbelievably easy. I also bought a Laser Monkey to use on the TTR.
I bought mine just over a year ago and guess what? Bloody lockdown has meant that I haven't had to adjust my chain since. It must be the first time I've looked forward to adjusting a chain!
Strange that, I bought one and found it not very good at all. Firstly I could not get it securely fixed on the rear sprocket, it would not line up in the middle of the chain, even at the rear sprocket and the battery life was abysmally short. The battery would not last 5 minutes, certainly not long enough to adjust the chain. I changed the battery for a new one and that one went flat in 5 minutes as well, so not a duff battery first time. Perhaps I got a defective item. I did get my money back but I haven't bought another one or anything to replace it.
