hi all, ok am looking to replace chain and sprockets on my 2014 tiger sport 1050. I have a 17 tooth front and a 43 tooth rear. I have the standard sprockets on the bike at the moment 44,rear and 18 front. if I replace with 17 and 43, what difference will it make to the bike.

looking at the chart, I don't think it will make much difference. 44 down to a 43 and 18 down to a 17
It begs the question ‘what are you trying to achieve?’ Larger rear sprocket lowers gearing, larger gearbox sprocket raises gearing. The table just sets out the final drive ratios available. If you want it more ‘long legged’ you could go up one tooth on the gearbox but fully laden with a pillion in the Alps you might go up one on the rear. Changing both plays tunes between those extremes. The manufacturers achieve the best compromise as they see it but the one thing that compromises performance over which they have minimal control are emissions regs. Flat spots that suggest gearing issues can disappear with a tweak to the ignition curve. But if you just need a new chain & sprockets......
Basically what you are proposing is a 3.5% reduction in gearing. This will give you a bit more acceleration but with more revs when cruising. If you have a vibration issue then this will move it slightly relative to road speed which may or may not be a consideration. The old rule of thumb was one tooth on the gearbox is roughly equal to three teeth on the wheel sprocket. Your proposition counters (sorry pun intended) one slightly with the other but a one tooth change at the gearbox can be quite noticeable. ...............And welcome by the way
