Hi Guys. So we are still fighting the cancer and after the failure of the immunotherapy, a new chemo (recommended by a German hospital) is being tried. We hope it will it least slow "The Bastard" down a bit. Anyway some better news, the Suzuki Burgman which I've had for over 5 years is being replaced. It's been a great scooter but I don't need that type of bike anymore as I'm not commuting to work, so I've opted for a new V-Strom 650 XT. I did look at the Tiger but it's far too expensive. The Strom will be my go-to tourer. Here she is just arrived at the dealer, but not yet ready for collection. It'll have top box, side panniers and some other goodies Don't worry, still have my Bonnie and loving it.
Hi glad to hear you are positive and things are well with you. The v-strom is a great choice of bike; you will enjoy.. Stay in touch as we are all thinking of you. Wessa
Good to hear from you Nikki and I hope all goes well and things look better for you both when the treatment is all finished, Lovely bike should look a treat kitted up
Glad to hear your still battling the bastard. Love the storm, but I'm a card carrying SV650 . That engine should be in the hall of fame of motorcycle engines. Good choice. My pall bought the big one the 1000 after years on an SV650 and he loves it. Did alright in the twisties last weekend keeping up with me.
Thanks Guys I can't do big heavy bikes anymore and the 650 Strom is perfect for me, I've ordered the low seat as with the standard one the bike was just a wee bit too tall. I'll post up some piccies once I get the bike home. BC
Hi Nikki, it's great to hear from you. Just to offer you a piece of positive news, my sister had a brain tumour; had it removed and had Chemo for about 9 months. She now has 3 monthly check-ups but for almost 12 months they have been clear, so there is hope . Now, onto better subjects. My Tiger 955i was a great bike, but top-heavy and too heavy, so I bought a Yamaha Tracer 700 which is 40 kgs lighter and rides really good. Has made all the difference to my riding pleasure. Your new SV650 is a super bike and I'm sure you'll find the same - light is right !!!! Keep your chin up, my prayers go out to you.
Hi Nikki, great to hear from you, good luck with the new bike and glad you’ve kept the bonnie as SV650CAT just doesn’t sound right! Still thinking of you guys, love alround
Hi Nikki nice too hear from you we are all thinking of you both. Can wait too see the photos of you're new bike. Tucker
Dave, that’s fantastic news about your sister. I hope and pray that something similar will happen for us. I’m glad you’re enjoying your new lighter bike. I’m sure I’ll have the same riding experience as you. The lightness of the Strom was like a breath of fresh air it felt so nimble and a pleasure to ride. Also the engine size is sufficient for what I want/need. BC
Good news Nikki let's all keep our fingers crossed. Great to hear that you've got a new bike. I bet that will be easier to manage than your old Trophy!
Hi. Good Luck for you and yours. Did you see the GS I bought Do you have a photo of yours? Enjoy the V Strom.
Hi Nikki, it’s good to hear from you and hope that the treatment has promising results. The Suzuki looks a very nice bike indeed, love the wheels
Lovely to hear from you Nikki, rooting for you both. Congratulations on the new bike, I'm sure you'll love it. Keep in touch.
Best of luck to you and the new treatment. Keep up the positive thoughts, along with my prayers. I have owned 2 Suzulis over the years, Gs850 and then upgraded to the 1200. Of all my bikes so far, the 850 is my favorite, so far. again, keep up those positive thoughts!
