Anyone care to post pics from their past? This one is around 1974 at Santa Pod Raceway. T150 Trident 750 plus mate on his Harley 750 side valve.
Possibly the only photo of me (with helmet off) on one of my bikes from days gone bye. Honda CBX 750F taken in early August 1988
In the Isle of Man in the late 80's. Me on the left, my mate's girlfriend and one of the funniest guys I have known. Then being a hooligan on a GPz1100
This is a rather poor copy from a 35mm slide but it is from 1965!! 1st bike. Honda C100 49cc of power!! Photo taken after my first long ride to my Uncle's house some 60 miles from home. My cousin photobombed the picture!!
Why are the uploaded jpeg files not visible when they were before? Unless it's mechanical I haven't a clue what is going on.
I've probably posted a few of these photos before, but here they are again anyway. Back then, as a student and then with a car and young family, my bikes were either cheap playthings or boxes of parts which needed putting back together! 1971 - built this Triumph 500 from boxes of bits bought for £35! 1972 - messing around with my brother's Matchless 350 1973 - borrowed my brother's Suzuki GT250... the Renault 4 was mine! 1979 - my new assistant helping build a Honda CB72 from bits I was given 1980 - Suzuki GT185, I have a receipt for an engine I don't remember fitting! 1980 - family time messing about with a CZ175, another freeby! 1981 - Jawa 350 bought as a non runner for £100, my last bike until 2011
Here's my offerings. Excellent picture quality isn't. Me trying to start my brothers Honda CB125 Camping in the Lake District, somewhere. And my first big bike Suzuki GS750. Wish I still had it today.
Do you know that this bike was one of the most comfortable sweet handling bikes I ever rode as given it as a courtesy bike while my aprilia mille was having service MOT and new tyres (Pirelli diablo Corsas oe no problems) and I really enjoyed my ride home maybe because of the difference in the two bikes but found it so comfy and laid back I almost felt like making an offer on it if it wasn't for the yzf750r at home in the garage now that's a bike and another story
Well... It feels like a lot of my bikes were before the advent of photography. But in fairness an (extremely) acrimonious breakup resulted in an awful lot of pictures, trophies and other irreplaceable stuff ending up on fire. Literally. Hell hath no fury indeed... What I do have though is: The spiritual predecessor to my current Speed Triple. Though hopefully the new one is somewhat less inclined to eat bearings. This was replaced by something altogether more interesting: Then things went sideways Before getting rapidly back on track Then a gap while I was mostly abroad and/or hiding from cameras before Then I know what I like, so after the first GSX-R 750 there was a string of others And yes, quite a lot of the in motion shots (all but one in fact) are on the Nurburgring...
I was riding another guy's XS back from Mallory Park with him on the back when it locked up. Crapped myself only being 16 at the time! Apparently he had been told recently that there was a bearing on it's way out, lay shaft I think, but he decided it would be ok! I also had a GPz like yours. Put it in a Harris frame eventually. Great fun
