You know i could not sleep last night. So i tried to put Triumph in the light as to how many Triumph's i have owned since their relaunch.
    Freddy
I can't sleep so I was thinking about my association with Triumph Motorcycles. It started way back in the ninety's. First bike strangely was Trident 750 from Hughenden M40. It blew up in the same decade engine failure and is still in a friends shed. I then had a Trophy 900 for a while liked that bike immensely but wanted the 1200 but did not have the funds. I then had the Sprint 900 again from Hughenden and around the eighties I had the blue Sprint as I was not keen on the red one I had. It developed a fault I believe was caused by a technician there after having a dispute over damage to the fairing. This is when Triumph tested the bike and the test rider said he was unhappy with the bike. I was asked to take the bike to Jack Lilly's. Where I met a technical manager Called Chris Power. A fine human being. He spoke to Triumph and got the bike replaced by Triumph for another blue model. I then had a Bonneville America again from Jack Lilly's and later a Speed master 900. I did not like the Speed master and reverted back to an America 900. I then moved to Bulldog Triumph as Mr Chris Power had relocated there and I trusted him. And then met Andy and Jason and though why would you want to go elsewhere these people are something else. I did have a few Bonneville's from them over the years and a couple I purchased privately ended up there needing them to sort out someone's mess which they did with a smile. Then I did have a 675 which My Son still rides it was a fantastic bike but I decided to go back to a Bonneville as it was the bike I grew up with over the years old T140's. Then I moved to a Trident and then decided to go back to the Bonneville 865 and a 900 scrambles version. Then full revolution to the present Trident 660 and again find myself having woe's. My journey with Triumph has been vast and I loved every Triumph i owned. I think there is a couple I have missed in my memories I seem to remember purchasing a bike from Carl Rosner motorcycles and think it may have been a Trident 900. I will go through my papers and pictures later and am sure I can locate it. Now with my motorcycle coming to the later stages of my passion. I feel let down with the Trident. I just wanted you to know. I feel Triumph should never have left the UK but understand. I do like the fact that Royal Endfield are perhaps coming home an I am swayed towards their 650.O'h yes I have another Sprint ST I purchased from a dealer near Brighton. That one the engine blew up spectacularly coming out of Liverpool but I did put that one down to my self as i had totally missed the I think sixteen thou service as I toured Ireland.
    Kind Regards
    Joe McDonald.

Ahhh Carl Rosners were sort of my local dealer as I lived right next to Gatwick airport in 79 when I was new bike shopping went to Rosners as they had a few new 850 Commandos in stock silver ones but they wanted a hefty premium for them which is how I ended up buying the new T140E from Read Bros of 814 High Road Leyton E10 London for the sum of £1,705 ( have a copy of the receipt here). My real local was T Northeast in Horley a Honda dealer at that point but was originally British bikes Tom who started was a salesman for Redhill Motorcycles until he went out on his own his two sons Rex and Leon ran it when I was getting into bikes. Dad dealt with Tom at Redhill when buying a sidecar for his bike in the 1950's

I have had few bikes compared to your tally.

You've probably had more Triumphs than I've had bikes of any and all makes!

It's so easy to get wound up about these things, and you know I was pretty fed up with my Speed 400 episode, but bear in mind that it'll be fixed, you'll be back on the road enjoying your Trident 660, and this will all just become another motorbike story to tell! :)

@ajc400 Yes remember your disappointment with your 400. I felt the same with mine. I just find it frustrating if your bike needs bits you have to wait till someone in Thailand decides to send them.

If manufacturers decide to move assembly to the other side of the world then they should be prepared to airfreight spare parts as a matter of urgency if they don't hold stock in the UK. I don't see why parts cannot be procured within a week or so.

@TRIPLE X We can see that, Why can't Triumph. Yes it is rare but does happen. All this can do is damage trust in the company. Honestly if i was hunting for a new bike today it would not be a Triumph.

Wow Joe, that’s one hell of a journey with Triumph.
Not many people can say they’ve ridden that many models across so many decades — you’ve basically lived through the brand’s whole modern history.

I get why the Trident 660 issues would leave a sour taste, especially after so many good memories with the older bikes. When you’ve been loyal to a brand for that long, any disappointment hits harder than it does for the average rider.

But honestly? It also sounds like you’ve had some incredible experiences — and met some genuinely good people along the way. Chris Power, Bulldog Triumph, Jack Lilly’s… not everyone gets that kind of support network.

Whatever you decide next — sticking with Triumph or trying something totally different like the RE 650 — you’ve earned the right to choose whatever brings you peace and enjoyment. After a lifetime of riding, that’s all that really matters.

Wishing you smoother roads ahead, mate.

@"Williams_Triumph, Yes i had a good run with Triumph. Don' know if i mentioned i had two TSS's and a TSX amongst that lot The TSX is one of my favourites i loved it and would love to find another at a good price. I am going to pull out all my old photo's and see if i can put faces to all the bikes i have had. I know somewhere i have a VHS video of me riding my BSA Firebird Scrambler.
