@joe mc donald Oh no, Joe! That's so, so disappointing. I'm late to this thread but have been catching up with your saga and know that you were very excited about your new Trident 660. And about simplifying your stable...for the time being anyway. And now that seems to have backfired since you are "scratching your backside" when the sun is shining. I really hope that Bulldog will make it right and get your new bike back on the road with you happily astride it.
@stinger, we've experienced dealer policies of not working on older bikes here in Arizona, too. Our local Harley dealership won't work on bikes older than 20 years. My oldest bike is my 2019 Speed Triple so I'm safe...so far. They are willing to work on my hubby's 2001 Fat Boy and they said it's primarily because we had a good relationship with the dealership (that partly "you've spent scads of money with us over the last 15 years").
Well looks like the Trophy won't be going in so soon not the dealers fault it's just that I cannot see my arm/shoulder being up to it in just 3 weeks or so I know it's only been 3 days since the operation but the shoulder took a real pounding it seems my jacket really shows it good job it has added protection and padding on the shoulder. Not sure if the numbness is a result or the operation or something else. Plezier
Got the nephew to put the Trophy up on her centre stand it was quite amusing to watch he did not realise the weight nor the knack needed to do it. He has never been into bikes. Back in 83 when broke both wrists on a chop within a week friends helped replace the extended fork tubes with standard ones and as soon as was out of plaster rode the bike to physio therepy got quite the looks. I will of course get it fixed immediately once it arrives. Andy Joel Service Manager Bulldog Triumph Reading Road Wokingham RG41 5AB Follow up from Bulldog Triumph who i do not hold responsible for any thing. They are exemplary.
I got a similar reply when they couldn't supply parts for my Speed 400, complete with that "thank you for supporting the Triumph brand" closing paragraph. It sounded pretty insincere when the paragraphs before it said no parts available and don't know when they will arrive!
Ahhh yes it seems that a chap in our village took his van and collected it from the scene not sure who asked him but will be sure to thank him later today when I contact him and will be able to see what the damage is. Still have to go to the police station as they should have the key and my helmet although might need to get a new one of those but until we see it not sure if actually hit my head or not thinking it may e the case as seem to have lost some time. Well peeps I have been sorely let down by Triumph. No radiator and no expectation as to when it will be delivered to Bulldog who have been exemplary throughout and they even expected it to be in last Tuesday when talking to Triumph. They have just arrived at my home address with their Demo bike the same model in yellow. Jason said not to worry as their insurance will cover any scratches or chips occurred while in my ownership which is what I was worried about But both Andy and Jason at Bulldog have today had it out with Triumph on my behalf and they are supposed to be delivering a new model Monday that I can use till my bike is repaired. Plus they are going to extend my warranty for another year thanks to Bulldog Triumph going out there on my behalf. Thankyou Bulldog Triumph. But Triumph UK I am so let down with you. Bulldog had a rather nice Honda CBX I think a custom looking bike from the pictures. I was sorely tempted to cut my losses and do a deal on it but Jason informs me it has just been sold.
You would think Triumph would let you keep the new bike coming in on Monday as your bike has not even had its first service yet as a good will gesture I know that's what I'd angle for especially as they have had it for a reasonable amount of time I know bulldog have been obliging with their part in the equation but it should be down to Triumph now to put things right a British bike that parts have to come from another country is the trident assembled in Hinckley or India
@Mark TGR9 That is what I was thinking but for sure I think the spares are coming from India. Although this is a rare incident you would think they would have a couple or Rads in stock here just in case. But in favour Bulldog Triumph have been at my aid and kept me informed I can only praise them for their efforts. But Triumph have disappointed immensely a company I spoke so highly of and it seems they are really non caring. Yes it would be nice if it was in the yellow that I wanted but was sold when I enquired. But I have a new bike and don't want to be spoiled.
You have been very patient Joe, I'm sure I would have been a damn sight less so! Hope you get a proper solution soon.
I would go for the yellow one too I was going to get a cosmic yellow street triple before I decided to go for the Tiger
Triumph Trident is built in Triumph's Thailand factory. Thailand builds many bikes - Honda's factory is apparently just up the road - and I think Thailand has a better reputation for quality than India. It's still a long way for parts to come, and poor show that Triumph don't seem to hold stocks in the UK.
Apart from the fact that Triumph appear to be useless, the atrocious grammar and spelling mistakes in their email to you would hint at the calibre of person they are recruiting these days.
If the email originated in the UK then it just shows how badly they have dumbed down the education system in the UK and sad fact that they have been doing this for at least a couple of decades putting non English speaking pupils first even to the point of ignoring native white pupils. I do not jest this happened to a friends daughter she was very bright and gifted when it came to maths and numbers the school just sat her on her own in a back corner gave he text books and left her to get on with it. Her Dad really lost it with the school an even the education authority threatening to home school. Not a done thing in England before this he was taken her exams early then the education authority blocked this and when it came time to move to the next school level they wanted he to go to a failing local school that was 80% not english speaking immigrant her Dad said no way. Because of the stink Daddy caused they had to send her to a decent school miles away and the authority made it as awkward as possible for her travel there. Anyway it worked out she got great grades and into Imperial College in London. She had to change Uni on advice from lecturers to change her degree course to a Masters course and she came out of Uni with a Doctorate in Theoretical Physics. As for Triumph cannot say that I am impressed with the way they are handling this but reading on the web this seems par the course for modern manufacturers it makes me less inclined to want a brand new bike and hanker more and more for a 60's,70's or even 80's classic. @Dawsy Not got much choice mate. But as said Bulldog arrived yesterday with their Demo bike and Triumph have said they would have another bike delivered Monday which Bulldog have said they will deliver to me till my bike is up and on the road again then they will swap the two bike over at my house. So Bulldog are really chipping in. And i know Andy has really gone the extra mile to speed things up. It just annoys Triumph hold no stock here in the UK or so it seems.
@ajc400 Didn't know that but we learn something new every day. You are right the stock should be here.
