The un fused wire with be for charging circuit and the fused for lights etc.

 

Is the bike neg earth as most early bikes are poss.

 

If the bike is positive earth you can still use the battery one of the red wires is not needed for earth, IE the fused one, but you will preferably need to fuse the negative side on the lighting/ancillary circuit.
