So Barton bike night is back up and running after Covid Excellent selection of bikes turned out, anyone else go? Here's a few pics. Who needs a helmet store? 850cc 100 hp @ 10,000 rpm Diesel turbo Mercedes KTM thingy
Here's a few more. A very varied selection attends and well worth a walkaround. Now I'm not into scooters but this would get my vote for novelty of the day. The guy in the background in the green outfit presumably is the owner. In his hand is a key fob and when he pressed it, it flapped the side panels dragon like
Always go to this as it's not far from Alford, but I was in Torquay all week . Did you do Boston, a few days earlier??
Here's a few more photos.... Now I'm not into trikes but appreciated the engineering that had gone into this one. The pictures don't give a real sense of the size of it. V8 engined, the big gullwing tail is actually the fuel tank and in the scorching (for UK) heat didn't seem like the best idea being polished stainless. It has a large radiator plus three oil coolers.
For something different how about this idea.... Now I've seen this run on a drag strip and they are surprisingly quick but then the problem pops up of how you stop the thing
For old bikes I liked this one.... Obviously a Norton but don't know the models, anyone care to chip in and add detail? Very tidy and looked quite usable for daily knocking about. The next one to it didn't do anything for me but maybe some of you might like it;
@Bikerman https://thelincolnite.co.uk/2022/07/thousands-of-bikes-and-riders-join-24th-boston-bike-night/ I wasn't aware of this one so need to add to next years agenda
It used to be in the main square and all around the streets. It was brilliant, and then the local council decided to put it in the field. Local businesses were spitting blod, as they lost thousands of pounds in lost sales. Another one that's a good ride out is to the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre, that's coming up soon. 17th of August, I'll be in Wales
Thanks for posting this. Aint a million miles from me I have it pencilled in the diary to go across for a couple of hours
Wow, @Eldon, that scooter is awesome! Wouldn't necessarily want it in my garage but yes, what a novelty. I'd love to have seen the flapping "wing" side panels!
What an interesting show with some VERY quirky and creative "bikes", @Eldon! Thanks for sharing. It's fun to see the results of people's creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
