To be honest, borders better on a bike, Lake District ain't that brill. Too many bloody tourists clogging up everywhere. I went through at the beginning of July this year, 15 mile taleback of traffic through the main route. Horrendously busy everywhere. Ride through and come up to Dumfries and Galloway, jsust as pretty, quiet and a lot less expensive , but then again i am slightly biased

Just booked the Cheviot Hotel for 3 nights. Might bring the wife,I think she could just about stand you lot. Staying in the same hotel as littleade for protection as we'll both be on BMW'S

Thanks Ade. Hoping to actually make it this time. My partners cancer treatment is going OK so far. The horrible thing was removed and now theres just a couple of weeks of radiotherapy to do then its fingers crossed thats it. I still have Trophy and will be bringing it to the meetup. I plan to use the Ijmuiden - Newcastle ferry which just leaves a short ride to get to the hotel.
