I've got a 955i sprint rs. It starts fine when cold but when I take it for a blast and turn off the engine the starter won't turn the engine. If I wait for the engine to cool it starts fine. Any idea's?
Pour water on the starter motor when it is 'HOT'. If it then starts when engine is Hot , the issue is in the starter motor ! Common fault in xb,xc,xd Ford Falcons in Australia , to might know them as the Ford Grenada ! The starter motor was too close to the exhaust manifold and pipes , so on hot days no starter motor running !! Issue is high temperatures cause high back EMF , resistance to current flow rises with temperature (heat) .
